Fixer Training Center

Our Training Center is located in a state-of-the-art facility. The program is designed and taught by professionals with a combined 180 years of home repair experience.

Our goal is to foster long-term careers and additional entrepreneurial opportunities for women and men in all areas of home repair.

This paid program prepares our future Fixers to safely and expertly tackle a huge range of home repair tasks – from holes in walls to leaky toilets and everything in between. The curriculum consists of over 800 hours of training, starting with classroom hours, lab-based practicum units, testing, and peer review. This is followed by an additional 6 -18 months of mentorship and apprenticeship, learning from senior Fixers in the field. From there, additional continuing education units are offered. Trainees learn standardized, safe repair methods, incorporating local codes across a variety of disciplines.

All of our Fixers undergo weekly continuous training to advance their skills and develop professional areas of concentration as their careers progress with us. In addition, all of our customer feedback is incorporated into the process – our skills are not just about fixing the thing, it’s about providing exemplary service.

Areas of study include:

  • Customer Service
  • Painting/drywall repair
  • Electrical repair
  • Plumbing
  • Appliance installation
  • TV mounting
  • Door repair
  • Tiling
  • …and more!
Did we mention we pay employees while they spend time learning in our Training Center?
